Abstention rate in the French presidential election first round 2022, by region
In France the abstention rate in the first round of the 2022 presidential election was 26.3 percent, four points higher than in the 2017 elections, according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior. Abstention was especially high in the overseas departments and territories. In contrast, the regions where the French went to the polls the most were Bretagne (21.21 percent), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (21.57 percent), and Occitannie (21.75 percent).
