In fiscal year 2021, the annual per-person purchase volume of milk in Japan exceeded 34 liters, out of which whole milk accounted for almost 25 liters. Milk-based drinks, referring to beverages fortified with minerals or flavored with fruit aroma, followed as the second most bought category.
