In 2018, moviegoers in the United States and Canada had to pay an average ticket price of 9.11 U.S. dollars. This marks an increase from 2017 where the average ticket price was 8.93 U.S. dollars. The national average in 2017 was lower than the average ticket price at cinemas operated by Regal Entertainment Group (REG), the largest movie theater chain in North America.
