Combined market share of major film distributors in the U.S. & Canada 2000-2022
The largest film distributors in the United States – Disney, Paramount, Sony, Universal, and Warner Bros. – are collectively known as the "Big Five." The group was referred to as the "Big Six" when it included 20th Century Fox, acquired by Disney at the end of the 2010s. Altogether, these corporations held 81 percent of the market share throughout 2022, which is a return to highs of a decade earlier.
