Number of TV households in Sub-Saharan Africa 2010-2021
The graph presents data on the number of TV households in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2010, 2014, and 2015, as well as a forecast for 2016 and 2021. There were nearly 55.34 million TV households in the region in 2015, a number which is expected to rise to almost 75 million by 2021. As of 2016, there were approximately 19.47 million pay TV subscribers in Sub-Saharan Africa, over 12 million of whom were subscribed to satellite TV. The revenue from pay TV in this area stood at 4.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2016, with forecasts projecting it will rise to 6.59 billion U.S. dollars in 2022.
