As of 2014, the mass market contributed roughly 50 percent to the total cosmetics turnover, whereas pharmacies had a lower percentage of approximately ten percent. When looking at the value of esential oils, cosmetics and perfumery imported to the Benelux countries in 2016, it was valued at roughly six billion euros. From the Benelux countries, the Netherlands had the highest import value with a little more than three billion euros.
