The consumption of this type of products peaked at 1.81 kilograms per person in 2013. The sector then initiated a downward trend, having its lowest point in 2016, with a volume of consumption per person of 1.1 kilograms. The consumption of squid and octopus however increased slightly in 2017 and 2018, with figures reaching 1.23 and 1.25 kilograms per capita respectively.
