Italy: consumption value of personal hygiene products 2018, by distribution channel This statistic presents the annual consumption of personal hygiene products in Italy in 2017 and 2018, listed by distribution channel. According to the data, the total value of the domestic consumption amounted to over one billion euros in 2018, showing a slight decrease compared to the previous years. Big retailers accounted for the vast majority of the total consumption of personal hygiene products with a value of 737.7 million euros in 2018, followed by pharmacies with 271 and by perfumeries with 24.5 million euros. Personal hygiene products considered include: shower gel, shampoo, intimate hygiene products, liquid soaps, synthetic detergents, foot hygiene products and talc.
