Gruppo Campari - Statistics & Facts

Gruppo Campari is a key player in the global alcoholic beverage industry. The Milan-based company, founded by Gaspare Campari in 1860, manufactures and markets well-known aperitif brands such as Campari and Aperol. Today, the Italian group’s portfolio includes over 50 premium and super premium spirits, wine and soft drink brands which are sold in more than 190 countries.

In 2001, parent-company Davide Campari-Milano S.p.A. began trading its shares in the Italian Stock Exchange. That year, Gruppo Campari acquired Skyy Spirits LLC, vendor of the SKYY Vodka brand. SKYY Vodka was listed as one of the best-selling vodka brands in the world in 2016. In 2009, the company added Wild Turkey, a premium Kentucky bourbon whiskey to its brand portfolio, thus reinforcing its position in the U.S. premium spirits market. Moreover, the Americas accounted for over 40 percent of Gruppo Campari’s net sales as of December 31, 2016.

In 2016, the firm’s total net sales exceeded 1.9 billion U.S. dollars. SKYY Vodka, Aperol, Campari and Wild Turkey accounted for the majority of the group’s net sales that year. The beverage giant has roughly 4,000 employees and owns 18 plants and four wineries, as well as a distribution network in 19 countries. On August 1, 2016, the company named actor Matthew McConaughey as Wild Turkey's new creative director.
