World Book Day is organized every year on April 23 by UNESCO to promote reading, publishing and copyright. To mark the occasion, Eurostat published some interesting figures about reading around Europe. People spend anywhere from 2 to 13 minutes per day reading books on average.
France had the lowest average length of time for book reading at 2 minutes a day while in Estonia, it's 13 minutes.
In Finland and Poland time spent reading books comes to 12 minutes. In the UK and Italy, it's 6 and 5 minutes respectively.
This chart shows average time spent reading books per day.
