Out of the ten countries with the highest share of inhabitants saying that they believe in man-made climate change, seven are located in Asia. India had the highest share of respondents saying that climate change was happening and that humans were mainly responsible in a recent survey by YouGov. 71 percent of Indians agreed with the statement.
In fact, the country has been no stranger to events which are intensified by climate change, like floods and droughts. Furthermore, smog shutting down whole metro areas (most recently in Delhi) might have also raised awareness among Indians for the abundance of man-made climate gases.
In Thailand and Indonesia, 69 percent of people said that man-made climate change was real, just as many as in Spain, the highest-ranking European country.
