An October 2019 survey of partnered adults in the United States found that 52 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 years had looked through their current partner's cellphone without that person's knowledge. In comparison, only 13 percent of U.S. adults aged 65 and older in relationships reported that they had done the same thing.
