Harassment impact while playing video games in the U.S. 2019-2022

Despite its popularity, the anonymous nature of online gaming leaves some gamers open to harassment and negative experiences. During a July 2022 survey of gamers in the United States, 18 percent of respondents stated that they were less social as a result of the harassment they experienced while online gaming. About a fourth of respondents said that they felt uncomfortable or upset after experiencing harassment while gaming.
