Between January 2020 and December 2021, the mobile app of Google Arts & Culture recorded the highest number of daily active users (DAU) on Android devices in Italy in June 2020. A study conducted by Airnow showed that the app reported nearly 15 thousand Android DAU in Italy during that month. Meanwhile, the app registered most DAU on Apple devices in April 2020.
Launched on February 1, 2011, Google Arts & Culture shows high-resolution pictures and videos of artworks and allows to visit global museums and galleries digitally. Aside from its educational tools, audio, and video contents, one of Google Arts & Culture's most renowned features is the Art Selfie, matching user faces with art portraits.
