WhatsApp user engagement in selected markets 2020-2021
In 2021, users worldwide spent approximately 18.6 hours using WhatsApp per month, down from the 19.4 hours of engagement registered by each user in 2020. Users in Brazil spent more than 29 hours on average using the popular social and communication app, while users in Argentina spent around 28.8 hours monthly on the app. In Australia, each user spent less than six hours per month on WhatsApp, while users in the United States spent around 7.6 hours on average using the Meta-owned chat app.
