In 2021, users worldwide spent approximately four percent fewer hours per month using WhatsApp compared to the previous year. Turkey was the market that registered the highest loss in WhatsApp users' engagement, with users in the country spending 13 percent less time on the app in the examined year. By comparison, Russia was the market reporting the highest growth in WhatsApp engagement, with users in the country spending approximately four percent more time on the app compared to the previous year.
