Growth in global hours spent on mobile apps 2020-2022, by country
App usage has experienced an unprecedented increase between the beginning of the pandemic and 2022, but the trend appears to have slowed down in the leading global markets. During the first quarter of 2022, users in Brazil, Turkey, and Argentina engaged with mobile apps five percent less than in the first quarter of 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. By comparison, users based in Singapore and Australia spent approximately 40 percent more time daily engaging with their mobile apps, while app users in the United States and the United Kingdom used their apps five percent more when compared to the first quarter of 2020.
