Non-national museums by website visits England 2023

According to a study published in October 2023, nearly half of surveyed non-national museums in England reported less than 100 thousand unique website visits from April 2022 to March 2023. Meanwhile, 18 percent of museums recorded over 100 thousand website visits in the 2022/2023 fiscal year.

The source defined the museum categories based on the following visitor size bands, determined before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic: micro museums (less than 10 thousand visitors), small museums (10-20 thousand visitors), medium museums (20-50 thousand visitors), large museums (50-100 thousand visitors), largest museums (more than 100 thousand visitors).

Exceeding/missing percentage points to 100 percent are probably due to rounding.
