Leading payment methods for online shopping in Finland 2013-2016 This statistic displays the most popular online shopping payment methods in Finland from 2013 to 2016. In 2016, the most popular online shopping method out of the available options that year was debit or credit card. 31 percent of respondents stated that they preferred to use this method to pay for their online purchase. The next popular method was direct payment via bank which accounted for a share of 30 percent. The third most popular method was invoice at 23 percent followed by PayPal, Payson or similar at 12 percent. Similar to 2016, debit or credit card was the most popular method also in 2015. In the same year, invoice was the second most popular method with nearly 30 percent of respondents preferring to use invoice to pay for their online purchase. In 2015 the respondents could also choose the method of Cash on Delivery (COD) which accounted for a share of 3 percent in that year. The most popular online shopping payment method in Finland in 2014 was direct payment via bank, which in 2013 placed third after invoice and debit or credit card.
