
Rakuten Rewards: quarterly gross merchandise sales (GMS) 2014-2022
After growing continuously year-over-year since 2014, Rakuten Rewards' quarterly gross merchandise sales saw a drop in 2020 following the COVID-19 oubreak. Despite rebounding during the fourth quarter - benefited as every year from the holiday sales - Rakuten Rewards' GMS was still below pre-pandemic levels. As of the first quarter of 2022, it reached a value of about 2.51 billion U.S. dollars.
