Visitors to paying State monuments and archaeological areas 2000-2018
From 2000 to 2018, the number of visitors to State monuments and archaeological areas with admission fee in Italy increased overall. In 2000, these paying State cultural institutions recorded roughly 10.7 million visitors. After decreasing during the following years, this figure rose steadily from 2012 onwards. In 2018, paying monuments and archaeological sites registered about 11.4 million visits.
