This statistic illustrates the reasons why customers would choose to switch from a traditional bank to an online bank in Italy as of November 2017. According to the survey results, the most attractive innovative service provided by online banks is payments with smartphone (through NFC technology), followed by money transfers through smartphone and online purchases through the bank app. All of the above mentioned services were indicated as reasons to switch to an online bank by roughly one third of the respondents.

*The sample is characterized as follows: 52% male and 48% female respondents. 46% of them were living in the North of Italy, 19% in the Centre and 35% in the South. 31% of the respondents were below 35 years of age, 47% between 35 and 55 and 22% over 55.
