As per the latest data, in the first quarter of 2020, it is forecast that shipments of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headsets will experience a year-over-year (YoY) decline of 10.5 percent, followed by a decline of 24.1 percent in the second quarter of the year.

Experts have suggested that this slump can be attributed to supply chain disruptions caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
