Primary reasons for using social media in Taiwan 2022
As of the third quarter of 2022, the number of social media users in Taiwan amounted to around 20 million, accounting for 85 percent of the democratic island's total population. Keeping in touch with acquaintances was the primary reason for using social media platforms, with 52 percent of surveyed internet users in Taiwan saying so.
