Online marketplaces such as eBay, Alibaba, or JD.com, accounted for over one-third of global online shopping orders. During a 2023 survey, 15 percent of digital shoppers reported spending money in e-grocers and supermarkets. Branded website purchasing ranked third with 14 percent of those surveyed, followed by retailer websites with 13 percent.
