
Opinions on Green Friday as an alternative to Black Friday in France 2019
Initiated in 2017, Green Friday aims to oppose Black Friday, in order to raise awareness for the social and environmental issues of mass consumption.
From the statistic, it can be seen that most of the individuals agreed to 79 percent with the fact that Black Friday encourages overconsumption of products, 56 percent reported problems with waste and 51 percent have acknowledged the fact that it has a negative effect on the environment. The feeling towards getting rid of Black Friday was mitigated, with 38 percent of the french consumers wanting to mantain it, 43 percent agreeing to its supression and 19 percent did not know.
