Netherlands: most downloaded banking apps 2019

The apps of ING, Rabobank and ABN AMRO together had more downloads in 2019 than seven other online banking solutions in the Netherlands. This estimate is possible thanks to figures provided by Airnow PLC. Online challenger bank bunq, for example, had 125,000 downloads that year whereas the application from ABN AMRO nearly reached 550,000 downloads. This should not come as a surprise, as these banks are the biggest of the country in terms of asset value.

The source does not mention whether this concerns "first-time" downloads, or whether users deleted an app and downloaded it again.

Due to the liberalized market of the Netherlands, there are no rankings that show all online banking apps. The source, for example, only provides individual data per app. The ten here have been picked due to their media presence and overall market share in the country.

All numbers include use on iPhone, iPad and Android devices (smartphone and tablets). The numbers were originally split between iOS and Android, but have been added together for clarity.
