European app market revenues 2018-2026, by segment
Mobile advertising was the main monetization method for mobile apps in Europe, while in-app purchases followed. In 2022, in-app advertising generated over 43.6 billion U.S. dollars, while in-app purchases saw estimated spending of almost 23 billion U.S. dollars from European consumers. Paid app downloads, which in 2022 accounted for 0.87 billion U.S. dollars in generated revenues for the European market, are projected to grow to over one billion U.S. dollars by the end of 2026.
