This statistic shows the results of a survey in which German respondents were asked how interested they are in a range of alternative protein ingredients for meat substitute products in Germany in 2016. A majority of respondents favor either dairy or eggs as a source of protein for meat substitutes with a 49 and 47 percent share each. Plant-based alternatives make up the remainder of options in the form of beans, peas and lentils, as well as nuts.
