Leading social apps in Google Play in Sweden 2019, by downloads
The social media video portal TikTok was the most downloaded social app in the Google Play Store in Sweden in October 2019. Users downloaded the app roughly 82 thousand times to their Android smartphones that month. Second and third came the instant messaging service Snapchat and the photo sharing platform Instagram.

The ranking shown here only included downloads from the app provider Google Play Store to Android mobile devices. The list of leading iPhone social networking apps shows a different picture. Facebook-owned WhatsApp Messenger was downloaded nearly 48 thousand times to these smartphones and thus, ranked highest in January 2019. Second most popular was the Messenger app, also Facebook-owned. Third came Facebook itself.

According to a survey conducted in 2019, 87 percent of Swedish respondents stated to have installed at least one app on their smartphones. 29 percent of individuals interviewed even installed 31 or more apps. With about 708 thousand daily active users in February 2019, the music streaming service Spotify was the most popular app in Google Play.
