Effective organ donors in Brazil 2013-2022
In Brazil, the number of effective organ donors amounted to 3,528 in 2022, up from 3,207 donors reported a year earlier. Figures showed a decrease in the number of organ donors after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, while it reached its highest value of 3,768 effective donors in 2019. Additionally, Brazil registered the second-highest donation rate among selected Latin American countries in 2020, with nearly 14.2 donors per million population.
