Finland: COVID-19 impact on video streaming subscriptions

According to a survey from 2020, the use of subscription-based video streaming services among Finns slightly increased as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. While 42 percent of the respondents did not subscribe to a streaming service prior to the coronavirus, the corresponding figure in the post-coronavirus period was 39 percent. The share of the Finnish people subscribing to Netflix grew by four percent, reaching 39 percent in April 2020.

The source adds the following information: "The following results show selected results from the survey “Digital Music in the Nordics” which was re-run again after the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results are based on 18–65 year olds and the results from the pre-corona survey thus differ slightly from the results shown in the first part of the report as they are based respondents aged 12–65."
