U.S. adults share of time spent on social networks 2019-2024
In 2019, adults in the United States spent 35.3 percent of the time they dedicated to social media using Meta’s Facebook. In 2022, this stood at 25.7 percent and is expected to fall further by 2024. As the share of time spent on Facebook declines, time spent on TikTok is expected to increase, reaching over 18 percent of the total social media usage time by 2024. Twitter and Snapchat are not expected to experience a significant change in user engagement in the next years.
