UBS and Credit Suisse were the largest banks in Switzerland until March 2023, when Credit Suisse was acquired by its long-time rival, UBS. In early 2023, UBS had a brand value of roughly 9.7 billion U.S. dollars, while Credit Suisse already saw alarming signs of a dropping brand value. Shortly before Credit Suisse was acquired by UBS, its brand value was 5.6 billion U.S. dollars.
