Second in the ranking was another popular Swedish musician, Zara Larsson, who had over five million subscribers. The DIY/beauty channel Narins Beauty was third with nearly five million subscribers. Furthermore, Avicii’s YouTube channel was the second most viewed channel , with 6.2 billion video views as of April 2019. First in this ranking was the well-known online entertainer Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie.

       Telephone interviews were conducted in 2017 and 2018 and it was concluded that watching entertaining videos and instructional videos were the most common activities on YouTube. The share of people watching entertaining videos however decreased from 73 percent in 2017 to 59 percent in 2018.

Youngest generations in Sweden are all YouTube users

       YouTube was very popular among the youngest representatives of the Swedish population in 2018. Swedes aged between 12 and 15 were nearly all using YouTube in 2018. 99 percent of the young adults between 16 and 25-years old used the platform. In contrast, 41 percent of the YouTube users who were 76 years or older, were 41 percent that year.
