
Canadian consumers' willingness to pay for local fruit and vegetable, by type 2020
As of 2020, approximately 15 percent of Canadian consumers are unwilling to pay a premium on strawberries when grown locally. This survey shows that, when grown locally, strawberries are the least likely food product which Canadians are willing to pay more for. Canadian consumers are more likely to pay a premium on peppers and apples, with only 4.5 and 6.7 percentage of respondents reporting that they are unwilling.
