In 2020, a survey showed that ad-supported tiers, exclusive hits, and VIP treatment were the most powerful incentives to retain video streaming service subscribers. 28 percent of respondents stated being able to switch to a reduced cost or ad-supported version of the service would make a VoD platform more valuable.
