A survey conducted in April 2020 revealed that 84 percent of Democrats in the United States felt that social media posts made by news organizations had been helpful in the coronavirus situation. Additionally, 78 percent of Democrats believed posts from public officials had been very or at least moderately helpful. In contrast, only 50 percent of Republicans believed posts from news organizations had been helpful.
