Employees in the private sector in Denmark work longer hours than people who belong to the public sector. While public sector employees worked 36.3 hours on a weekly average in 2018, the number amounted to 38.2 hours for private sector employees. In Denmark, a work week of 37 hours is the most common, and 34.7 percent of Danes worked this much in 2018.
