In 2017, the most used connectivity and analytics technology in manufacturing was data-enabled resource optimization. This technology was forecast to continue being the most used technology until 2022 as well. It was predictive maintenance, however, that was projected to become the fastest growing technology between 2017 and 2022. By 2022, some 66 percent of manufacturers are forecast to have adopted predictive maintenance in their operations.
