This timeline shows Nike's revenue in Western Europe from 2009 to 2017, by segment. In 2015, Nike's revenue in the footwear segment amounted to about 3.88 billion U.S. dollars in Western Europe. Revenue from Western Europe was significantly higher than the amount of revenue generated in central and Eastern Europe. In 2016, the combined footwear, apparel and equipment revenues generated in central and Eastern Europe, were less than the revenue generated by apparel in Western Europe.
Western Europe was the second largest market for Nike's footwear division. North America accounted for almost half of the footwear division's revenue, generating 9.3 billion U.S dollars compared with the 10.59 billion U.S dollars generated by other regions. Annual growth has been consistent in each of these markets, with the exception of emerging markets, which recorded a dip from 2.6 billion U.S dollars in 2015 to 2.54 U.S dollars in 2016.
The 5.88 billion U.S dollars generated in Western Europe, contributed to Nike's global revenue reaching 32.38 billion U.S dollars in 2016.
