Super Bowl advertising revenue 2003-2018 In 2018, companies spent 408 million U.S. dollars on in-game advertising during the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl LII was played between Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots, and took place in Minnesota on February 4th 2018. The Eagles won 41 to 33 that year.

Watching Super Bowl commercials is an annual pastime of many Americans, and thanks to the internet, it is also popular around the world. Therefore, Super Bowl attracts many high-profile companies to advertise and enhance their visibility. In 2018, the companies which showcased their products, included Amazon, Budweiser and Febreze, just to name a few. That year, 86 commercials were shown during the Super Bowl broadcast, amounting to a total ad time of 51 minutes and 20 seconds. The average cost of a 30 second commercial spot during Super Bowl 2018 was 5.24 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 200 thousand dollars compared to 2017.
One of the major attractions of Super Bowl is the Halftime Show, which represents a fundamental link to pop culture, and has popular singers performing. In 2018 it was officially known as the Pepsi Halftime Show, where along with his own music, Justin Timberlake sang a cover of the late artist Prince's song as a tribute. The day after Timberlake’s Super Bowl performance, his cover of the song "I Would Die 4 U", had a Spotify streaming increase of 916 percent.
