This statistic shows the mean pay gap between women and men in the largest banks in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2018 and 2018. In 2017, HSBC bank plc reported a pay gap of 59 percent between men and women. This meant that when comparing mean hourly rates, women at HSBC earned 63 pence for every one British pound that was earned by a man. The gender pay gap for HSBC increased to 61 percent in the following year, but fell for the other three banks.
