Transactional risk insurance: value of limits placed EMEA 2017-2022
In 2022, the value of transactional risk insurance in EMEA fell by four billion U.S dollars. Transactional risk insurance includes representations and warranty (R&W) insurance, as well as warranty and indemnity (W&I), tax and contingent liability insurance. Between 2020 and 2021, the value of W&I insurance limits reported by Marsh JLT almost doubled, amounting to around 35.4 billion U.S. dollars. In 2022, the value of limits placed in the EMEA region dropped to approximately 31.2 billion U.S. dollars, which meant that the maximum amount of money that insurers would pay for W&I insurance claims was 31.2 billion U.S. dollars.
