In 2021, Hospital Dr. Félix Bulnes Cerda, located in Santiago, was the hospital with the most equipment for maternity units for accommodating newborns in Chile, with 49 medical devices. Hospital de Puerto Montt Dr. Eduardo Schutz Schroeder ranked second with 47 units of medical equipment for maternity and newborn care. Meanwhile, the latter hospital was also among the better equipped Chilean hospitals for medical imaging.
