The 2019 Women's World Cup was the eighth edition of the tournament, which was first played back in 1991. The 2019 tournament was held across nine cities in France and was contested by 24 national teams. During a February 2019 survey, 13 percent of respondents in the United States said that they were very interested in watching some of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup matches.
