A study conducted in September 2021 found that, against a baseline of all U.S. shoppers (index level=100), consumers in the Northeast were the least interested in shopping on Thanksgiving Day as part of the Black Friday/Cyber Weekend special sales. Consumers in the Southern regions were more likely to shop on this day, registering an index level of 104.
