In 2022, the Italian company Saipem SpA generated most of its revenue in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. Saipem is an engineering and construction contractor that mostly works on onshore and offshore oil projects. Saipem only generated 400 million euros worth of revenue in Italy that year. Saipem was one of the largest Italian construction and engineering contractors in 2021.
