In 2021, the income level comprising the highest number of charitable donors in Canada was that of people earning 80 thousand Canadian dollars and more. Individuals in this income group, in fact, accounted for 40 percent of the total amount of donors in the country.
Distribution of charitable donors in Canada in 2021, by income group
Charitable donor is defined as a tax filer reporting a charitable donation amount on line 340 of the personal income tax form. Charitable donation is the allowable portion of total donations, as reported on the income tax return.
