This statistic presents the results of a survey among households across India about the distribution of hospital stay after Cesarean section childbirth in 2013-14, by duration. For instance, the share of mothers who stayed in hospitals for less than 12 hours after a C-section childbirth delivery was only about two percent. A majority of women stayed for 48 hours or longer during the survey period.
